I assembled this short promo pro-bono from 4 hours of footage I shot during this 1-day green business conference.

Originally, I went in shooting these discussion circles thinking that I'd edit them down from 45min to a 5min best-of highlight reel so I was shooting continuously for the 45min trying to capture the rapidly changing conversations. But that priority meant that I didn't necessarily have the best shots that would make for a good promo.
Nevertheless, I had enough raw material that I was able to find decent clips to work with. The sound was difficult as I couldn't mic anyone, couldn't have them pass around a mic and didn't have an audio assistant to hold a boom mic closer to each speaker. You'll see my Zoom H2 recorder in the middle of the circle in one shot, but it was too far from everyone to give useful audio.
I left the camera in auto-focus because I thought I'd be too busy following the action to take time to manually focus. And I didn't manually zoom either, instead, using the servo so that I wouldn't have any abrupt disruptions during someone's quote. But I've concluded that it would've been better to zoom manually and just jump right into the framing I wanted, editing out the zoom later.
I think I shot these using the Spark scene file, can't remember for sure though.
The lighting was natural, sunlight filtering in through large windows, making for nice backlight for some angles and harsh and completely blown out at others.
I quickly whipped up the title animations just to add some zest to the piece and didn't have time to do much sweetening to the audio.
I'm very happy with the fullness of the colors indoors with this camera.
I shot and edited at 720_30p, exported to H.264 at 360p and adjusted contrast +10 and brightness -10 to compensate for the stupid h.264 gamma shift. white still doesn't come out white!!
Edited in Edius, avchd converted to canopus HQ. Motion graphics done in AE.
anyhow, would appreciate any comments and feedback.
