I traded in my lunch today to shoot a little test of the GH4 at 96fps. Yes the image is a little soft but I like how it looks and I think if I add a little sharpening it will look great. This is ungraded straight out of the camera and edited in Premiere Pro. I'm hoping to play around with grading it tomorrow but I'm in sweeps/ratings hell right now. Got to love local broadcast baby!

Sharpening helped. I used Colorista II to grade with. The image already had some banding in the blue channel or the sky so I couldn't get to crazy with it. I did a exposure ramp up with the guy and the sun shooting up. As the sun goes out of frame I keyframed a 1 stop increase. Looks natural. I'm happy with the end result and would use 96fps if I needed it. Another factor is I shot a lot around f16 to get the sun star. That's not the sharpest f stop so if I stay around f5.8 or f8 it could improve the image.

OMG, I love that sequence against the sun, toward the end of the vid! Wonder how the sky would look with other profiles than the Cinelike V! Amazing. I'm going to blame you, when my wife asks why it is that I bought yet another camera.
 
I always thought the 60 fps on the GH3 looked really nice, better than the 1080i60i on the C100 in terms of sharpness. All I've seen from GH4 test videos is testing out the 96 fps which most agree is soft. I'm curious to see what 60 fps looks like on the GH4. Would it just be the same as the GH3?

The GH3 at 60fps is sweet. That was my overcranking tool because the C300 doesn't do full HD. The flood scene was with the GH3 in this video.

Fantastic! Those colors are great. I really liked that low shot of the kite pilot up into the sun. You can see the camera hanging onto that detail in his shirt edge and the shadows. Wow! I also thought that the motion of the spiraling kite with the B&W tail looked really really good. Nice flares too, Erik. Man... this is unbelievable in the sun.

The highlights look really good. The sun shots are nice and white. No yellow yuck! That makes me happy.
If I have some time today I can do a grade. I wont replace the original just upload another version if you all interested in see it.

After hearing a bit how horrible the p96 mode was, I have to say it looks essentially similar to Canon DSLRs' normal 1080 with regards to M/A
