Hey guys!

http://www.keylight-studios.com/gchristmastrailer.html

This is the trailer to a short film im finishing up on...the compression quality isn't that great, but you can still see what's going on!  Any comments would be nice!

-MIKE

*edit* It's supposed to be playing as it loads, but it's not  :-/
Please bear with it though, it's not that big a file, and on'ce it's loaded it will play!

Also, here's the link to the file itself, in case there are problems with the html site:

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

Looks good. Well done trailer. Would like to see a bigger version of it tho.

I thought we left postage-stamp size video 2001! ;)

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

I'm hoping to get a bigger version up soon...I wanted to keep it under 10mb for streaming purposes...I'll probably end up having a zipped version at higher res that you can download to your HD.

As for the mics used, we used SM-58s. While they're not *made* for boom-style recordings, they seemed to get the job done :D

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

I liked it... I thought the music was great. Really gave it a certain feel...

That all original music?

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

All the music used is original, and written by Aaron Tsang, who also produced the film. We're scoring a piece right now for a montage, which will be a medley of existing christmas music (which belongs to public domain) :D

Anyone else have any thoughts on the trailer?

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

Look great! good acting.. makes me want to see more of it. One thing though.. I thought the scene with running over the man with the car was too rushed. The angel used could be more effective. Perhaps a cut from front view of car to inside-front passenger seat view? That is... unless the running over the man part is a major component of your storyline...

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

Actually, that you mention it...it is the one thing that ties it all together...

to get the gist, the movie is about three stories, which take place at the same time, and they revolve around the guy getting hit by the car...but it would have been a good idea to get more coverage of it anyways...

It was a composite shot, actually, and so getting other angles was too difficult for me (I wouldn't know how to go about it). In the film, we have the close up of the driver as it happens (for one of the stories) but there's no actual footage of the accident (except the driver's facial expressions)

but THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING :D:D:D:D:D  I love feedback!!

Anybody else?

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

Hi Mike!

I watched this when you first posted it. This looks like a nice story. I can't complain terribly over a short like this. It looks very well done. When can we see it? The shots look properly exposed (available light?) and I like a Trailer that tells me something.

Re: Gray Christmas Trailer

For the interior sequences, we had a small lighting set-up, but our goal was to only accent what was there, not make it look *too* glossy, because we had barely any control over the exteriors...a couple flags and bouncing for day scenes, and using car headlights for illumination for the night scenes...
We didn't want it to look completely different whenever we switched from inside to outside...but we still wanted it to look polished.

I'm most proud of the car interiors, which were an INTENSIVE lighting set-up, having shot the sequences in a garage :P
