Grad Nd Filters vs ML HDR for Video

Hi guys,

I've been using a 60d for a while now and the main problem that I always get is exposing sky and the foreground together. In some shots where I've panned across a room to reveal a window I've sneakily closed the iris to expose the window correctly, but that only works when the window and the foreground are in different frames.

I love Neumann Film's HDR videos with the 5d and ML, Bodie was excellent. But I gather that when using HDR you get ghosting if there is too much movement in the frame, but then the problem with the grad filters is they only work with fairly even landscapes so obviously wouldn't work very well with exposing outside a window in a room as one half is tinted the other is clear.

So what's the best option here? Or are there any other options...?

Also just a Magic Lantern question, if I have ml on one sd card, and swap sd cards..does my camera then revert back to its normal canon firmware?

Thanks,
Nick

I think the best option is to light the interior and expose accordingly...
If that is not possible you could try HDR and see how it goes, I ve never tried it yet, but I think it has a complicated workflow so it cant be something that you can use all the time...
About ML...yes, the camera will boot with canon firmware if you use a non ML sd card.
