Grabs from two days work, Sgpro/dvx.

Hey dudes.
My colleague and I have been shooting for the last two days now(on our security school project), and I thought I should post some grabs to check out what you guys think of them. Unfortunately some of the grabs were gained and are very grainy, but that's what happens when you are all set up with lights for an exterior daylight shoot but then you have to sit and wait until essential people arrives on the set, and while you are waiting it gets darker outside. It's scary as the darkness comes haunting you: "Oh my god, we're down to f-stop 2.0 now, only one stop left to go....and the darkness...it's coming. There is no time!!!!"

Have a look,
and all kinds of comments are highly appreciated!

i've been following your various footage posts for a while, and must say you have a great eye, man. i admire what you're doing.

Clean & vibrant as always (your footage is what pushed me to invest in a 35mm adapter) - I agree with Rebel, i'd like to see it in motion. what lens(es) do you use?

A couple of shots (#2 and #3 + #2 of the 2nd batch) are a bit dark but overall they're great. Nice work.

Any feedback yet from the company you're doing this for? I think training videos usually are a lot less cinematic than what you're offering them. They'd better love it.

Great work smettli:)

Loved the grabs.
And I'm gonna say something I've said before:

"Make a full length movie!"

I would so watch it.. then download it illegally.. then I would think and debate heavily about buying it on DVD...

Keep at it man:) You deserve all the nice comments you get here +more!

oh.. and one thing I've been wondering about: Do you shoot widescreen now?
Or 4:3 then resize in after effects or something?
(If so, would you mind sharing the process of resizing to 16:9?)

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
This was actually one of the trickier shoots we have done, becuase the locations were very underlit by natural light and we only had two readheads.
We mostly used my pentax 55mm f 1.2, but also my zoom lens 75-150mm in the exterior grab were the security guard is talking in his cell phone with the black background.
Will probably post some footage after a little while, we are using the next week to edit and do foley on the project.
Tommetass: If I ever make a movie, you can download it illegaly as much as you want :)
I still shoot in normal 4:3 mode, but I tape the monitor to mask a 16:9 frame. Later on I will probably use Instant HD to uprez a little bit, but most importantly to get the right image which can be squeezed on to a dvd so it will display right on both a widescreen and 4:3 TV.

- CHeers!

Thanks dude! I was kinda worried about the dark stuff, I will have to see how it works out in the end.

great eye man. can't wait to see some footage of it. as always good work. every day you're making me want to buy an SGPRO.

Thanks guys.
I am indeed using the SGPro rev. 2, and hopefully I will be able to get up some footage soon.

- Cheers!

Man, seriously. You are one of the most talented filmmakers on this forum. I would love to learn how you do what you do.
