Grabs from "The Harwin Show"

My brother and a friend of his wrote a script about one of the characters in a feature we filmed last year. The star is a cop named Lt. Snuffs Harwin. It's kind of an homage to the 50s Cop dramas with the cliche villain with the top hat, the big band jazzy soundtrack and of course, the girl. Here are some grabs that I color graded to DEATH...i had a week to shoot this stuff and had no idea what I was doing on set, I thought of shots on my feet. It was ridiculous. But anyways, here are some results.

And heres a random frame i caught in the footage that was too hilariously "Emo" to pass up.

I know they are mostly out of focus...I really don;t have the eye for it yet, even with the focus assist function...and this was more or less gorilla shooting with some lamps. The grading is a bit over the top I know, but like I said, the raw stuff is pretty bad.

Anyways. Have at it.

NOTE: I tried to use the "insert image' but they arent showing up STILL. Sorry.

rum and coke.

rum and coke.

Is this a comedy? The character's mustache looks more like 1920's, the Charlie Chaplin movies. But the coke cans should have been from the time.
The rum and coke pic lokks real nice.

lol yeah its a comedy..more like a Naked Gun film...its supposed to be like those films, but set in the modern day. So its even more silly. And I agree the mustaches are more 20s. We just had them laying around.

Trust me if i had stuff from that era id put it in. This is a 0 budget 1 week "fling" with some friends.

Thanks for the complement.

haha, I liked the "best disguise" grab. and I'm a huge fan of Leslie Nielsen/Naked Gun films. These are always so much fun to shoot.

I love the rum and coke shot - i think the abundance of color in that shot makes it look alot more dynamic that any of the others. It sort of looks like old Nickelodeon footage - Edwin S. Porter type stuff. The best disguise shot is good too as I like the cool aqua feel of it.

Grain Central Station.

let me get this straight...you color graded that to hell because the original footage was bad? i don't really get the point. if the footage was bad in the first place then color grading it as much as you did probably made it worse, hence all the grain. seemed like you had the Gain on the camera on at all times.

the movie does look like fun though. i am also a fan of the farce films like Naked Gun and Airplane. as long as you had fun on the shoot then power to you.
