Grabs from my new (asian) noir short film "Black"

Looks like I'm not the only busy-body :-) Good luck and don't forget to take a breather.

Cool, just remember that sound is half of the experience. Most stuff I've seen looks great but is let down by the "soundtrack" (and I don't mean the theme music).
Agreed, I will be taking my time with the sound, my previous work have been plagued by sub par audio (especially the foley stuff, not going to make the same mistakes this time).

I wish I wasn't such an idiot when it comes to editing, otherwise I'd be happy to help out. I know how to use a camera/camcorder or do websites though if that's any help.
Thanks for you offer, once this short film starts getting accepted into festivals, I will definately want to set up a website and hopefully by then, we can collaborate.

Understandable. Just be real careful not to ruin your chances by posting too much online. Having said that, give us the trailer already! :-D
Bad news here for everyone, I couldn't cut the trailer on time today!!! so you guys will have to sit tight and wait until next week. Sorry for that.

I love film noir but am pretty much a n00b at editing and lighting. So reading up on how you did it ups my chances of one day producing something decent.
Best way to learn is to just go out and shoot something. After my previous short film, I did not make another for more than a year. And in that year, I participated in any filmmaking projects, shorts, features, music videos...basically anything I can get my hands on to learn. Only this year did I gained enough confidence to do a short version of this long planned project.

Now, I am pumped up enough to embark on a feature length version.

Great looking shots so far. Can't wait to see the trailer.
One thing I noticed is that anyone that knows how to use a gun would not have that gap between the thumb and back of the gun. If he were to fire like that the gun would kick up way more than it has too and it leaves a nasty blister if you fire a bunch of rounds, I know from experience. Plus there is the possibility of spraining your wrist. I know its a small detail but a detail is a detail. ;)

That's really great advice man. Thanks a lot. I was wondering if the way he was holding the gun is correct. Since we are a country where guns are illegal to own (except for the police/army/ security), technical advise on firearms related stuff is basically non-existant.

But I know now and will not make the same mistakes again. I will also appreciate more advise on how to properly hold the gun since I believe there are more than one mistakes regarding firearms in the short film.
