Grabs from a war short

I was bored today, so thought I wanted to shoot something... The footage turned out pretty good, I think!

So, what do you think?

Now remember my überlow age

Miniman, where did you shoot this? Are you in Northern England? Is that a dry stone wall in the background?

Nope, mmm, it's all shot in south-west Norway.

Oh and BTW, it's all shot on the DVX100E, without squeeze or anamorphic adapter. Just cropped in post.

Some re-CC-ing, just for fun, really reminds me of one of the scenes in The Thin Red Line!

Definitely good stuff, all framed nicely as someone said. I like the grainy look, it works, sorta like Band Of Brothers-ish / Saints And Soldiers-ish.

Keep 'em coming.

Awesome stuff! Great framing, composition and colors... I only wish the soldier were a bit older-looking! It's kind of disturbing to see such young people in military outfits, even if in reality they're mostly 19-24 year olds.

But I digress... Great looking stills! Keep up the good work.

Ou ****! This looks so cool! I like especially the last "Some re-CC-ing" pic! Really really cool! I love that kind of silhouette...that has been used in many war movies. I want to try also this kind of stuff when I get my hands on the HVX!

Looks really cool. Nice to see someone from Norway on these boards :)

Jeg er også norsk.

Aside from nice grabs do you have an actual short film for us? Or is this some dude in a unifomr walking around in the field outside your house?

Oh well, there is a short film, yes, but this was all something i shot because i was bored... The only reason i posted it here is because i was pretty pleased with the footage. Now this inspired me and us to make a real movie out of it, with a pre-written (not made up durning the shot) script.

I COUDL post the short here, but you'll only be disappointed with the "story".

Nice eye for composition. To help get rid of the bane of deep focus DV, though you might want to try to remember throwing your BG's out of focus (not always necessary but on this shot it would look cool)...speaking of clip no. 5 here.
Very nice cc'ing, too. Agree with John, though. Get to making that flick!
