These are CC'd grabs form somethign I'm working on. I think they look pretty good! Any suggestions? I'm really trying to feel my way around the whole color adjusting thing (using Vegas)

THNX!

If the cc matches the look you want then I guess its perfect. CC in these shots looks OK.

You should lower your exposure and try and get some fill on the front of your subjects i.e. the knight. Then you can adjust the look more precisely in post.. well thats what I have found out.

these grabs have the high noon sun on them and it doesn't give too much of a cinematic feel... sorry. but great costumes!
perhaps you can knock out some color and workaround that harsh light look.

Thanks! The overexporsure was intentional, these grabs are from a "flashback" section of the film that is meant to show something in the way that it is remembered, rather than the way that it is. I was trying to get a bleached-out over-lighted scorching outdoors look.

Nice, I was goping to agree with Hudson about the over exposure. But I know now what you are going for and I think it works. Nice DOF too :)

Looks good to me. Since you explained the look you were going for, I think it works pretty well. I second the costumes comment. Very cool. :)

lol. pretty random lol

nice shots though, i like the framing of them, artistic and pleasing to the eye, CC is nice too, really like it, would have been better if ya filmed that, depending on the sun, earlier or later in the day.

I swear I am here for the people.

1. Use your Zebras and expose for the highlights

The glint of sun shining off of the Knights armor is a highlight. Expose for it. However, on the young man, the skin and rope are not highlights. You do not want to see Zebras in those areas (Assuming your Zebras are set at 100 IRE)

I set my Zebras at 100 and adjust from there (always exposing for the highlights. If a highlight is blowing out over 100 then I know it's off the charts and I'll never get that information back), however on skin tones 70-80 is preferable I would imagine ? So having your other Zebra set for 80 may be useful.

In post:

2. Make sure you monitor is calibrated

3. Use your Videoscopes to monitor your levels.
