f/0.95 25mm of course..Yea it's awesome. Thanks to Barry Green for turning me on to this lens. It arrived yesterday and we took it out on it's first shoot today. Love it. Now to get a good 9-10mm and that should round out our collection nicely!

I just got mine yesterday too. The bokeh looks like an oil painting to me. I'm freaking out at how beautiful this lens is.

Another vote for the voight. I got mine a few weeks ago, for $749 with a 3 month wait.

it just does so many things well, a tremendous soft portrait lens, even in very low light, the dof allows you to make ordinary shots look extraordinary.

Taken in a dim living room at night, completley unplanned. One of those rare shots you just take.
The image is way better quality than here. Some of his hair is in focus, his face a tad soft.
To get such a shallow dof in very low light is pretty special.

There also was not very much color difference between his skin and the carpet.
I didn't think it would work in a dark room with no hair lamp.

It seems that Mainline Photographics in Australia will be shipping Voigtlander's also this month for $959. They ship worldwide.

I was gonna buy one from them, it seems that they are quite fast with the delivery, but I found one in Portugal and I bought it here since they didn't have any at that moment.

The best probably is to talk to them - scott@mainlinephoto.com.au - they're quite great with the service they provide...

The aperture rings are clicked, and apparently the aperture mechanism is set so deep in the lens assembly, that there's nothing that can be done to de-click the iris. Or so I've been told.

Ah, well, very interesting. I had asked him a while back about that lens, and he didn't seem to think it'd be "mod-able," but I'm glad to see things have changed.

Just happened to be passing Classic Camera in London and there was one in the window! It's now in my bag of course, can't believe what a good lens this is :)

I've got both the Voigtlander and the 20mm, and I totally agree with everything Matthew Duclos wrote there. Two lenses designed for nearly the same focal length, and low light performance, but they couldn't be more different in their approaches, and they both take turns vying for the title of "my favorite lens".

The Lumix is sharp as hell. But just look at the closeup of the girl -- is sharpness the end-all be-all of everything you want, at all times? Sometimes, yes -- but not always. The Voigtlander is a little softer and a little dreamier -- which makes it a little more "cinematic", if you will.

The 20mm is excellent for landscapes and wide deep focus shots, and it does surprisingly well in low light, but not really for portraits and people. The Voigtlander excels at people shots, and would be even better if it was just a little longer... a 32mm or 35mm Voigtlander 0.95 would be the ideal people lens.

Glad to hear it's de-clickable. I just sent six ZF's to Duclos for the cine-mod, they're supposed to be shipped back today(!) If I'd known that he could do the Voigtlander too, I would have sent it along.

My understanding from Matthew Duclos is that these lenses are not able to be "cine-modded" because of how the lenses are designed.

Cine-modded means to de-click it right? Sorry guys, newbie here.

And adding a seamless follow-focus ring (film pitch, usually) and a common "cinema size" front flange ring of 80mm OD (77mm thread).
