1DC: Got Bokeh? (+ Audition Sprectal Audio Editing)

Hadn't used the Canon 135 F2 in a while: 1DX II + 135 F2 @ F2 + Tiffen variable ND. G3 wireless (need to work on mic placement/wire hold (tape or clip) to reduce rustle), Audition Spectral edit to remove screaming kid (at the beginning where Jacqui's voice briefly sounds funny). You go into Sprectral View, then paint the 'scream harmonics' (easy to see), then press delete and does a decent job of reducing. Can repeat delete and completely remove noise, but then talent voice is too affected. Did a slight FFT eq to make edit less obvious. Also applied PP CC's new DeNoise filter (with Light preset). A Highpas filter at 200Hz was used to reduce most of the mic rustle, along with an FFT filter to fine tune: all done pretty quickly- less than a few minutes total.

No color work in post other than contrast and slight saturation + WB (Filmic Skin picture style).

While the Canon 135 F2 is a sharp lens, it looks kinda creamy at F2 through the Tiffen VND- didn't think diffusion was needed in post after viewing on YouTube in 4K (+ used 25 sharpen in Lumetri; in camera sharpen is off).

EDIT: + post diffusion - which is preferred?

The diffused one but it may be because some more contrast was added as a result (either directly or indirectly).

Thanks, I think it works either way, on iPhoneX the flatter one looks a little better to me.

Diffusion version: the top layer Opacity is 50% Soft Light with 33.0 Gaussian blur, which does indeed also increase contrast and saturation, in addition to smoothing the skin.

Here's what's possible with raw- curious if the C200/C300/C700 FF can produce a similar raw look or are the cinema camera sensors completely different? Never shot raw on the C300 II, it looked quite a bit different vs. the 1DX II.

P.S. A camera design you may enjoy.

The first one only had internal HD and 4K output.

They have internal 4K in this second version:

Pretty cool man! What would be really bitchen (you guys got that surfer slang on the Right Coast?) is killer camera blocks (with excellent IBIS) that hook into phones. That way we can shoot, edit, upload, all on the phone if desired. With top of the line cinema quality- phones have the juice to do the heavy lifting, right now.

A buddy of mine (he's worked for me and I've worked for him over the years) just finished working on the software for this camera: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1436638-REG/zeiss_zx1_digital_camera.html . Seems kinda like a Leica ;)

This didn't do well in the market: https://www.amazon.com/DxO-20-2MP-Digital-Connected-Current/dp/B01L25N77O though some people seem to like it. Looks like it records internally vs. over Lightning/USB3.x into the phone (perhaps speed or lack of APIs to make that work right now).

I'm thinking full frame, EF mount, IBIS, etc. along with a case to mount the phone and camera block (using a flexible cable vs. rigid-direct-to-phone like they did). If this ever becomes possible, it means the camera OS becomes an app, which can be built as desired by any number of developers- the end of crippling haha! (Look what the ML team did with Canon DSLRs)
