GOP Minium lenght in PAL FHD 25p...

Hi there fellows!

I was messing arround with GOP settings in my GH13 PAL version, so is 25p in FHD.
I see that default value there in PTool 3.36 is "13" and in SH at 50p is "26", right the double.
I´ve proven SH 50p GOP with value "13" instead of it´s default value (26) with sucses! and there are not spikes at all in the recorded video signal, but when trying to change FHD value wich is "13" comes the question:

Anyone knows a nice and stable value for FHD to achieve a lower GOP group than the default value in a PAL GH13 version?

BTW: I,ve been using "c" quality setting on PTool 3.36 in AVCHD mode with 24/25p activated....
 
Default for 24p is 15, I changed it to 12 with success. Choose an interval of the FPS and you should be ok. The footage I got when i changed it to 12 was astounding, especially with all the high detail and movement.

I´ve tried yet two values for FHD on a PAL GH13, as follows:

FHD ---- from 13 to 8 ---- This value made The codec compress de image ALOT so was crap! ;-). "C" values on AVCHD.

FHD ---- from 13 to 6 ---- This value looks like works preety well with "C" values on AVCHD.

I liked to know other´s experiences on this matter!.

So you got good susccess using GOP = 8 in FHD with "C" setting?..uhhhmmm...
That´s the opeosite I got myself with GOP=8 (Interesting thing...).

BTW:It is a "Class 4" Sandisk...

Oh, yeah. Class 4 won't be able to handle it. I would suggest either:

a.) seeing how far you can safely push it (I'm happy with my footage and couldn't make the camera freeze up, so I'm done with patches)
b.) going out and spending money on a nice Class 10 memory card. I bought the 32 GB Panasonic Gold, and I love it.

Yep, will do as soon as I can. I'm going to the beach on Sunday, so I'll shoot some nice footage and put up some stills. I just don't know when I'll have the time because I will be really busy with work. If someone tells me what files (as in what files off the memory card) to put up a file Sunday night. Just be aware it would be a short clip and not everything I shoot.

I am using 24p patch as well. I chose 8 because its 1/3 the frame rate. Where your scenes highly detailed? I have had no problems with pulsing or mud even with detailed scenes.

Thanks. The MTS files are located in \PRIVATE\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM folder on the card.
