It is too much of a new camera for anyone to have produced a book. There might be something posted on YouTube, but really the best educator is experience. It's digital media after all and you can delete failed attempts to your hearts content. If you are stuck on a particular feature, then I'm sure someone can help you here.

You might want to look at GH2 material since all things DSLR will be similar, only difference being individual functions. You could look into this:

Although I'm not sure I'd pay $30 for it, but YMMV. Google is a better choice in my opinion.

Happy hunting.

Barry Green posted that he might do one of his famous books/DVDs on the GH3, similar to what he did for the AF100 and others - that would be the authoritative source for any help book/manual. He conditioned this on how popular the GH3 would become and on how good it was compared to the GH2 - if it was significantly better as a video tool, he might do a book. It's still early days, but hopefully soon he'll make a decision - if he did, I'd definitely buy it, as would many others :)

For 'recommended' settings this forum is probably better than any 'book' for some time to come. There have been discussions about 'settings' for the GH-1/2, and I'm sure people will be posting what the GH-3 'optimums' are, at least from their own point of view and use...

If you have never shot moving pictures, there are a number of general cinematography books out there that can assist in get you to a level of understanding about such things as, Composition, Lighting, etc. Some of those sorts of discussions may be found in the 'cinematography' section of this site.
