Good sound mixer?

If you have a hum noise it's not induced by the camera (unless it's faulty).

Are you booming your audio or does the mic sits on your camera?

If you are booming, it's more likely the hum to be induced by your cable if it isn't a balanced one.

If you are not booming and the cable is short, the mic itself can be introducing noise. Do you have it connected trough XLR to TRS or are you feeding sound to the camera XLR connectors?

Try a short balanced XLR cable and see if the hum persists. Try another mic if it does.

About mixers, it all depends on your budget, but if you go for a SD Mixpre or the most sofisticated 302 you won't regret.
