Good low light STANDARD DEF camcorder

Hi everybody,

I am looking for a camera that is good in low light and can output standard def. It's for a podcast and the encoder cannot handle HD.

Any recommendations?

For low light it's hard to beat the Sony PD170.

is this a one-time use?

because dvx100 rentals are $100/day on most craigslist

if client is comfortable buying used w/low hours, several dvx100b are on the classified at @$1k
