Good Hyperdeck Shuttle news

So we have confirmed that we can use the ShuttleDeck 2 to record DNxHD 220 and put it in a Quicktime .MOV wraper that doesn't have Gamma shifts in either FCP X or PPRO 5.5?

This is DNxHD vs AVCHD, is this gamma difference normal?

Its from the hyperdeck shuttle 2,5 beta 3

Left side of the picture is DNxHD

Wich container? Wich NLE and wich OS?

There's a gamma shifting and, perhaps, also a color space difference: black tends to grey

mov, premiere cs5.5 and windows 7

OK: those are files for mac, with 0-255 color space and with gamma optimized for mac. Have you tried MXF files? I've heard that with 2.5 beta 1 MXF files were compatible only with Avid systems but perhaps now they have extended the compatibility. Samurai Avid files will be wrapped in a *.mov container also: I hope that Atomos will keep well in mind that there are windows users and that mac users already have the Prores files.

Yeah, the DNx looks much flatter. I would love to see more examples in different lighting situations. Upload a DPX file so we can drop in Color and compare the scopes. You know, when you have free time of course. ;-)

I've heard this, but just tested it yesterday and can now confirm. Both the HDMI and SDI out are always live even if the AF100 is set to 24psf (48 fields) out. This means you get a non standard HDMI signal. Even tho its non standard, my 24 inch Sony Google TV client monitor reads the signal just fine. As some of you know the AF100 drops the HDMI signal when setting the SDI to psf out. Now with the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2, what this means is you can still save space on the SSD's by setting the AF100 to psf out and not recording the pulldown, also save time by not removing that pulldown in post, and still get an HDMI signal out of the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 that can be used on some monitors. This is good news for me. Thought I'd share.
