That’s great! If BMD adds ProRes flavors I’m in for sure.
FYI the 2.5 beta 1 and 2 versions released for the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 also gives the option to record DNxHD files in a .mov wrapper. I've already edited in FCP7 and FCPX with the footage.
As for drives I use two Kingston v100 128GB drives (doesn't work for uncompressed tho).
Very encouraging news on this as well. I wonder if and when that happens if you will have to buy a new version 3 like you did when DNxHD was added.Erik, I spoke to the BMD guy at BVE about this, and he wouldn't confirm but says that they're trying to get ProRes sorted - apparently it's a rights issue with Apple.
Just tested the new firmware on a Shuttle 1. I can confirm that SDI stop/start works on the AF100 using the SDI flag in free run TC mode. Woo Hoo!
Works in either mode. There are 3 radio buttons in the software that control triggering - Never, Free Run and Rec Run. Works any way you want to.
And yes, I work in free run. I do narrative pictures and free run allows for jamming from a slate and works well with wild audio tracks etc.
