what is the resolution of this guy, and if they are trusted sellers how do you purchase one.

I don't see HDMI mentioned anywhere in the specs. For sure this has HDMI input? And I'd want the non-touch screen version...saves a few bucks too.

keep in mind....if you use the HDMI port and try to record audio to the camera, you will record noise. I've tested this in two 7d and same result.

I really like my 24" samsumg LCD 1080p. $250 bucks, pretty lightweight. I set it up on a cstand with a 30 foot hdmi cable. The director loves being able to see the footage asap. Without it there is no way I could get the rack focus right while I dolly. 640x480 isn't enough.

I didn't have it on a shoot and totally missed focus on some shots. footage at 11 @ www.ochermedia.com

Oh and the best thing about it is it has pretty good speakers. I even use it for a secondary computer monitor. It's nice. I sold my older 24" dell LCD and traded up.

I can't seem to find the offer on the web anywhere (but I didn't look to hard) but I got an email newsletter from Ikan saying the V8000 HDMI was on sale for $350 or so..

I put a freaking little scratch on mine by bumping with with my metal keyboard on the way to the car...tiny but driving me nuts >.<

I'm building a kit that will fit in a backpack/roller carryon and a 24" is out of the question. Anybody used the 7" Lilliput?

...so are ya'll gonna make me order this thing and be the guinea pig? Nobody's tried one? It's basically a headrest monitor with HDMI in.

Why is that?
And what do you mean with "noise"? Some noise in the audio - or ONLY noise?

@ben_b

Are you sure about that $350 price range? If so, could you please send a link or something. That is an incredible deal for an Ikan v8000 that I'm sure everyone here would appreciate jumping on.

Thanks

Remember you can always get a monitor that just has a DVI port and get a HDMI to DVI cable. They are completely compatible standards. That opens up your options to just about any monitor made today. (You may already be aware of this, but I know a lot of people aren't)
