Going on Airplane to Cambodia

Hey guys,

I am on a film crew with a few guys and we are shooting a documentary in Cambodia. This is my first time to take my camera through security and on an aircraft. My camera bag is carry on size.

Are the things I should be worried about? Is airport security "fidgety" about cameras onboard?

Any tips and precautions would be great.

Thanks.

Good question! Last spring I took my old MiniDV camcorder for an airplane trip. I had it in my carry-on bag since it was small, and when it passed through the security, it was all good. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. I know a lot of people bring digital cameras on airplanes all the time, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Although since it is a "higher-end" camcorder, they may ask you what it's being used for, and the situation might be a bit different.

Just be sure that you have a charged battery with the camera so that you can power it up to show security if they request it.

I went through security check with camera in a waterproof hard case all packed away in carry on luggage. The security team thought it was a bomb for sure. Had to unpack and show them otherwise. You should have no problems.

they might make you show it to them and prove that its not a bomb of sorts, but the X-ray machine will not damage anything.
