Going from DVX100B to HMC150 with FCP6

I've been shooting with a DVX100B and I'm set to purchase a HMC150. I'm using FCP6 and my computer is iMac 2.4 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB memory. I've been trying to make sense of the AVCHD and DVCProHD issues. Can anyone tell me if, with the setup i presently have, I'm heading into big problems? I get the feeling that it's not going to be a sooth transition.

you should be fine but i would choose ProRes over DVCPROHD. You will be able to just log and transfer to ProRes. Worked with some 150 footage on a friends iMac with a nice FW800 and ProRes. No problems.

Thanks Matt. There's a lot of tech info flying around. It had me a little bit spooked. One unrelated question. I'm going to order a SDHC card as well. Will a class 6 card be enough or do I need a class 10? B&H has a Class 6, 32GB card as a recommended accessory. I'm thinking of ordering two 16GB cards instead of the 32GB.

All that's required is a Class 4 card. Depending on what you're shooting, two cards mean that not all of your eggs are in one basket so to speak, should a card crap out.

go with the class6 for slightly better file transfer times from card to computer....about 1gb/min.
class10 will xfer even faster, but not sure its worth the extra cost and your camera can't utilize the extra speed anyways.

you can get 16gb class6 cards by Transcend at tigerdirect.com or newegg.com for around $30.
