GH2 God i love my gh2...

The GH2 may resolve more detail than Canon equivalents but resolution is still moderate for HD,softer glass :Drogar-SunGlass(DBG :undecided na

It's not about resolution, it's about the feel the glass gives.

I'm not even talking about soft Nikkors wide open, the Tamron 17-50 non-VC for example is sharp yet silky.

While the Panasonic glass (14-140, 20 1.7) is sharp in a digital way (not good for my taste and needs).

So, I was wondering... was anyone underwhelmed by their GH2, before they tried "non-panasonic" glass?

It's all subjective but Panasonic glass is my least favorite on the GH2. Far too contrasty and sharp for my taste. I use it on my stedicam when I need auto focus but other than that it's old Nikons for me.
Found a pristine old Minolta 135mm 3.5 in the attic last week, got an adapter, slapped it on the GH2 & love how it instantly has the feel of old 16mm film (minus the DR). It's much harder to get that out of the Panny glass.

Can you all list some of your preferred adapters for Canon and Nikon glass? I do have some EOS glass available but I am conflicted on the various adapters available for M43.

Additionally, could someone who is familiar with the hack please PM me. (if you have a minute)

GH2 Appreciation Thread

Well IMO (Disclaimer: I stated IMO so people who disagree leave your feelings at the door) after Canon has shown their hand with the 1DX and 5D Mark III and Nikon has shown the D4 and D800 I think it's safe to say the GH2 is still on top as far as image quality goes. Quite sad but it is what it is. It makes my pockets happy that I don't have to feel pressured to shell out 3,500-7,000 on a new cam anytime soon (...until specs are reveiled on the C-DSLR) Thank you GH2. With that I leave you with a video that looks better that any launch video that we have seen in the past 3-4 months from a sub $800 camera and a free hack. SMH step it up Canon.
