Ahoy all,

Let me know what you think of this recap -

Not my property perse - but I did shoot and edit it for another studio - There were two other shooters, Chase Bowman ( studio owner - his clients www.cuttothechasepro.com) and Vanessa Rud.

Gonna' try to enter this in a few contests - Weva, GPVA.

First gig I used the Glidecam on

I just checked this out and here are my critiques.

This is very different from most wedding videos I have seen. It feels more like an actually movie then a wedding video. From the songs to the Shot selection and composition. Now this isn't necessarily a bad or a good thing just an observation. It was very well put together and you shouldn't have any reserves about putting it on your Demo Reel. The shot in 2:09 -2:17 was excellent.

Very professional, great composition and timing. What kind of audio set up did you use as well as lighting on the dance floor. Most weddings on this site great video but not audio to match in this case they did. let me know what mics. Great job!

Holy smokes, what kind of wizardry did it take to get such beautiful pictures run-and-gun style?

well for one, the wedding was OBVIOUSLY a setup. i mean look at them.

when they say their vows, the girl obvoiusly struggles on her lines, keeps stuttering and one almost feels that she is about to cry cause of it.... embarrasing.

Wedding a setup? I wouldn't jump to conclusions just because the bride was hesitating or stuttering. You would never expect a wedding to go perfectly. Things are bound to happen, and I do believe such things make an event special. Kind of a surprise.

The shooting was good, and the detailed editing makes it better. The transitions and styles are wonderful. Good work!

For a wedding movie, that was better than some REAL movies. We should all take a leaf from your book, editing, colour grading, and camera moves. Exceptional. I too dream of making wedding movies like you guys did.

What did you use to edit with? Also what is weva?

Yes certainly the audio was top notch for a wedding. Overall composition wasnt my personal taste and video seemed a little redish on the skin tones. The editing was good, and the audio cuts over the top were nice indeed.

This felt more like a movie trailer than a wedding highlight video. I love the dialog throughout the video, it really ties everything together. I have been doing weddings for a couple of years now, and I know how hard it is to get great shots like that. With the sunset shots, was that something you staged or were you just following the photographer? The rack focus with the ring and the groom is a great shot too. Its always cool to see different spins on an event that most of the time follows the same exact routine. I've been to the weva convention in NYC, and I can tell you that this can hold its own with anything that I saw there. Keep up the great work.

One of the biggest unspoken challenges in shooting weddings is making it interesting for complete strangers to watch. You have acheived this and much more. This is the most original wedding video I have seen. The camera moves and framing were superb and the editing was very creative.

Kudos to you and keep up the great work. I would love to see a higher resolution version of this. Do you have one available?

sooo amazing... this has inspired me to shoot weddings in a more cinematic format... without a doubt! -- i agree with everyone else, this better be in your portfolio. anyone and everyone will be touched by this piece.

BRAVO! loved the music choice, as well! (although the only reserve i had was the tiki torch flame... didn't seem justified... i don't know)
also, on a side note... did people think you looked crazy with your glidecam at a wedding? i would imagine that would get in the way of many people... who cares, though!? you got SWEET IMAGES!!!
