C100: Glidecam HD 2000 or 4000?

Which would be better for my C100: the Glidecam HD 2000 or Glidecam HD 4000? Would the 4000 be too heavy? I make documentaries and probably will be shooting only a few minutes at a time of stabilized shots, so probably won't get the vest and arm. The 2000 would be lighter and easier to hold, but maybe not heavy enough for C100? Anybody have any suggestions? Many thanks.

If its just a few shots here and there, I would go for the 2000 (it is large enough for the C100)
The 4000 will be more 'future-proof' and allow you do use heavier equipment down the line, but if you need to just grab a shot here and there, the 2000 will be no problem.

I had the 4000 with my C100, Audio Handle, Zeiss 28mm, and it was pretty heavy.

Another option is going for a carbon fibre e-bay 'knock off' brand for a much cheaper price. I've been using a Weildy Carbon Fibre stabilizer for a few weeks for weddings and have been getting significantly better shots than the Glidecam 4000 w/smooth shooter (because the 4000 broke in half mid shoot! peice of crap lol). Great to grab the few shots you might want, and very light.

HD 4000 all the way. I don't think you would be able to balance it well enough on the HD 2000 to achieve good stability. The HD 2000 was barely able to hold my old setup with a 5dm3 with a battery grip and 24-70mm.

I don't think you should be looking at a Glidecam without a vest if you will be shooting minutes at a time for each shot. That cannot be healthy for your shoulder/arm in the long run. Most I could see is 15-20 seconds and even that is long for 1 take.

If you are worried about weight, while still getting stable shots.. you may want to consider the HaloRig.

Without a vest and Arm you will get tired very fast... I can tell you from experience and I am pretty fit!
