GL2 digital effects

Okay so I want to use a digital effect on my GL2 but it won't let me turn it on - the option is yellowed out on my screen. Does anyone know what setting I might be in need of changing for this??? Thanks!

Never tried any of them myself, but the manual says that some can't be selected in frame mode or at certain shutter speeds (see p. 62).
