Give me some advice please. AF100

I'm about to purchase my very own AF100. :cheesy: But here's the thing, I have an Xh-A1s and am also about to purchase a 35mm adapter for it (Redrock M3). Do you guys think that the image quality produced by these cameras will differ greatly? Would I be able to integrate them?

I also have another option. I was thinking about not buying that 35mm adapter and eventually selling my A1s in order to save for my second panny. This will also let me cut the costs on batteries and other accessories.

So in this case, what other panasonic would be suited to go with the AF100?

I have the the XH-A1 and Its not as clean as the AF-100 and the image wont be as sharp. Thats just two out of many reasons. Ok and a third. Its HDV. It's a pretty old camera that was great for its time, but if it where me I wouldn't invest in it. A GH2 is going to be cleaner and much easier to use than a DOF adapter on the Canon. Remember tape? Yuck!
I have all three of the Cameras mentioned and I have not used the XH-A1 once since I purchased the AF-100 and the GH2. Heck I don't even use my 5D first gen. much for stills anymore. The GH2 takes great stills. Easy to carry on trails and shoots amazing video.

I sold all my tape-based equipment within a month of purchasing my first totally solid state camcorder last fall. Handling tapes, doing real-time transfers and worrying about head clogs and so forth just felt like a total waste of energy when I could fit three times as much video on a tiny and cheap SD card. I didn't even want to handle my tape camcorders anymore -- they just felt like relics from a previous lifetime.

I would suggest holding off on the lens adapter for the Canon until you have worked with the AF100 for awhile. If your reaction is as strong and visceral as mine, you might soon start to think it would be a waste of money and effort.

Thanks for posting everyone. I was already having second thoughts on keeping the camera due to it using cassettes like you guys previously mentioned, these are all valid points. However, I have no experience with dslrs. After reading another thread, I decided on saving up more money and using the money from the Xh-A1 to purchase another AF100 in the near future.
