GH5 GHx Wishlist

I wonder if the new lower resolution sensor is the key to getting 60p performance ?
No, because you already have that ability through HDMI.

The bottleneck is the encoding speed and the bandwidth of the memory.
For a decent 4K@60 4:2:2 10 bit performance you should have at least 400Mbps H.265 which should be technically possible in future models, perhaps even the GH5s.

But that's only through external recording because there's not enough processing power in the GH5 or EVA1 to do it internally.

This new GH5s might be able to do it internally because no processing is spent on down-sampling a 5K image down to 4K, it sounds like it's going to be a 1:1 pixel image capture like the GH4 was.

Yes, provided the camera has the processing power to handle this. I suspect that the GH5s recording rates will be pretty much identical to the current GH5 camera. ( no 400 Mbps IPB encoding )

I'd like to see added:
- ETC ON/OFF *during* recording
- manual focus assist *during* recording
- HDMI output during 6K anamorphic recording, 1920/1080 would be good, I just want the abilily for focus assist and large LED monitor *during* recording

Changing IBIS FL presets

Changing IBIS FL presets

I like this list.

(snip)
Other small requests (also should all be achievable on GH5 with a firmware update):

(snip)
- Custom IBIS Focal length presets (3 locked options or manual entry, and I don't use any of the three locked options - why can't I customize these?
- IBIS focal length indicator on screen (small text of number below icon). All too easy to forget to change to proper focal length, especially when an external HDMI monitor is connected, the prompt is bypassed, and I have forgot to change this multiple times.

First input your new FL, then touch the pre-set below you'd like to change, then the "Disp. Save" message that appears and accept the over-write. Works like a charm!
