GH5 GH5s and ND IR

It looks very much like it does have an IR matrix. The bulk of cameras have an IR filter and that is the piece you see sitting in front of the sensor. The piece that freaks people out thinking it is the sensor they have to clean when in fact in 99.9% of cases it is the IR matrix which if you dismantle you will see is generally a lamination of around three bonded layers. Going by the tests on the GH5S by Alan Roberts on the EBU – Tech 3335 assessment the GH5S demonstrated no IR contamination. The last cameras that suffered from this badly were the original Sony EX series. This was later fixed with the release of the EX1/R and the EX3/2.
