GH5 GH5 new IS lock stabilator

When I activate I.S. Lock (Video) mode, the Dual 2 stabilization symbol disappears in the VF and is replaced by a hand in a square. Is this correct? Does the I.S. Lock disable Dual 2, and is this better, more stable, than Dual 2 (with I.S. Lock turned off)?

I'm in Creative Video Mode with a native (compatible) lens.

That is correct, and with I.S. Lock enabled the stabilization is vastly better for static handheld shooting, a tripod-like steadiness from off-the tripod, but not the right choice for panning or action.
 
What am I missing here? This is a feature different from normal IBIS? How is it activated, same as Stabilizer?
 
It was added as a menu selectable feature with the firmware update that brought HLG and 400 mbps all-I recording; in the stabilizer section.
