GH4 GH4 V-log?

The upcoming firmware 2.3 will remove the 30 min record limit in the E.U. devices?
No it seems that only the new european GH4R Model hast the limit removed, because it is an import custums thing, it is problably not legally possible to remove it for already imported devices. for existing GH4 models, the firmwrae will only add the log profile.

The upcoming firmware update (2.3) is a separate update to the VLOG paid for functionality addition. The firmware on its own, will not remove the EU 29:59 recording limit.

You think UK process is confusing, what about people in Eastern Europe and other European countries, I have no idea where should I order and if it will work.
I only know french an order for 50% of the money, but does anyone have more info on other countries?

I think Panasonic could have handled this a lot better! There has not been an official word since the update was announced especially in Europe!! There's only been vague tiny pieces of information on social media with no definite dates etc.

That's true, on the german panasonic site they first only had the press release, with no info when or how you would be able to order. By chance I googled "DMW-SFU1"
yesterday and found a link directly to the panny shop, which wasn't there the day before. The funny thing is there is no item description that mentions V-log or the GH4.
So I could be paying 100 € for a useless code...

I just tried Googling it and the results take me only to the US shop or the UK information page.. you may have bought a warranty! ;)

Veydra has since said they want to release the 2x by early 2016. I can wait. They also plan on showing off a final model around December of this year. Gives me more time to save up my money, assuming it comes in at a price I can justify. Edit: Just saw the comment by HRC saying they expect an early 2016 release.

Sorry if the answer is buried deep in this thread... but what exactly needs to be "shipped"?

Probably worried about it being hacked. If the public keys aren't so easy to be compromised, it's much harder to crack.

Exactly. If you managed to collect a few thousand keys online you might be able to reverse-engineer the algorithm used to generate these keys.

Why couldn't they:

1. Setup a webpage of some sort
2. Type in your Serial Number from your GH4 (found on the bottom)
3. Pay your $99 via credit card
4. Download your customised 'ACTIVE.LST'
5. Copy to SD card
6. Insert / Update

No issues with keys being shared online, as the ACTIVE.LST file is for 'that' GH4 only. Of course, people could share their 'ACTIVE.LST' file and maybe people will try and see if they can edit it in some way to work with others, but this can happen with the current process anyway
