GH4 GH4 - Obvious Errors!

I have a GH4 to play with this weekend and as I only have it for a short space of time - I'd really like to avoid making any glaring mistakes with camera setup.

Are there any particular things I need to watch out for? Are there any recommended settings I should be using?

I want to shoot in 4k obviously, my PC can handle it (I think - i7 3770, 32GB RAM, 780ti) although I don't have a 4k monitor (yet!).

Like I say - don't have a lot of time with the camera so little things I can take into consideration now will go a long way :)

Oh and lenses I have 35-100 and 14-140. Sadly the Voightlander and 20mm are unavailable to me right now :(

Thank you!

Black text on grey is exceedingly difficult for some of us to see and read.

You might not get much response for that reason.

The only two issues I can think of at the moment are the audio buzz issue and the HDMI issue.

HDMI issue - There is an extreme lag between what the camera sees and what is sent through to the HDMI. Status: Unsolved [More Info]

Audio buzz issue - There is a buzz when certain mics are plugged into the GH4. The buzz is also easily heard through the headphones regardless of what is connected. Status: Solved [More Info]

Thanks! Yeah I realise that but for some reason the text boxes are really hard to type in with some keys needing two or three presses to appear!

Same at work and at home - different PCs. Must be an IE11 issue!!!!

Ok! So I'm now typing in Firefox and there are no issues whatsoever.

Sorry about that. There is clearly an issue with IE11 and this forum (try it for yourself!).

The reason the first post was in dark text was because I typed it elsewhere and copied and pasted it in - but I was struggling to even change the text colour as it wasn't responding - so I gave up and posted anyway :)

ANYWAY.

Thanks for the replies - I've just had a quick spin with the GH4 and WOW. I'm very impressed - even on my 1080 monitor the quality is crystal. I'll take it out for a longer run tomorrow.

Once in movie mode be sure to "lock" the top dial so the setting is not changed. Cine-V profile looks nice in overcast or low contrast situations. I don't do any of that flat-image stuff others do because I like the default scene settings.
