GH4 GH4 Feature Film

Awesome man! Those are some great looking frame grabs. Glad to see some people here are still shooting indie films.
Looks like you've got some good locations too, that was always the hardest thing on indie films in my opinion.

If you're shooting in LA, Silver Dream Factory in Anaheim has some great standing, prelit sets for affordable rates. With a small crew, you don't even need insurance or permits. The owner Roland is super cool.

HI I have tried your settings at goldenhour outside with an anamorphic set up with a nikon ai 50 f1.8 as a taking lens. Little minmal adjustments in post... I wonder how it

hey thanks for sharing yr settings!!!

More grabs. After seeing what Neat video can do I decided to push my camera a bit more. These images are from ISO 800 to 1600, without noise reduction yet, so a bit on the grainy side--

Lookin' good. When do you estimate completion?

How will you be distributing? Will I be able to purchase a Blu-ray copy?

This looks very much like something I want to see when completed!

I expect to be done by next summer. Have about 80 percent of the film in the can, or on the drive so to speak. I'll keep y'all updated.

More stills. Nearly done. For the night shooting I switched to Cine D. My Cine V settings are great for daylight, or anything with a lot of light, but it exaggerates grain in high ISO, low light shooting.

Looks great - viewed the teaser and, within 20 secs, I'd stopped scanning the footage for 'GH4-quirks' and just watched the teaser/story unfold... so, that's a great success. :)

What did you use for hand guns, rental props? How did you handle security for scenes that had the "firearms" in them?

I used replicas, and shot on private property. The alley, parking lot scenes were shot on a gated in studio lot. My script has limited firearm use in it. The guns only go off a couple times. Will add muzzle flashes in post. And I rehearsed without the guns and only brought them out for live takes.

I am glad I have come back to DVXuser, I missed the community here. About to start shooting a feature with the GH4 and wanted to get some inspiration. Thanks for that Batutta!
