GH4 GH4 Feature Film

Finally making my first feature film. Shooting and directing it myself. Stills from the first day's shooting with my modified Cine V settings (-1, -3, -5, -3, 0), idynamic low, shadow +3, 16-235 luma (I prefer 0-255 but my monitor crushes blacks with that setting). Minor color correction applied. Nice. Looking forward to seeing the final product. I'm glad you're using CinelikeV, I feel like you're taking one for the team to prove it works well in certain situations.

After doing a lot of tests and shooting on the GH4 I've come to the conclusion that CineV makes the best all around use of the codec. My modifications are mostly to make the image not SO contrasty especially in the shadows. But CineV just gives a little extra something to the colours for me, which is why I prefer it to CineD. Still use the Leeming LUT to get the skin tones just right but the extra contrast adjustments aren't necessary with it.

Thanks for your reply. I'm guessing based on your statement about the codec that you're recording internally?

Very interesting and bald move:) Congratulations!!! Good Luck with the Movie!

These stills look great! Did you tested it on big screen? How does it look in regard to video artifacts on a big screen?
Any details about the workflow that you are willing to share?

Also, any link to a website/imdb/KS-donations site for the movie?

Great shots, love the look. Can you share what lenses you are using?

Mostly alternate between a 35mm Nikon AIS, A Rokinon 16mm Cine lens and a Rokinon 85mm Cine lens on a Speedbooster knockoff. For gimbal shots I used the lumix 14-42.

Awesome man! Those are some great looking frame grabs. Glad to see some people here are still shooting indie films.
Looks like you've got some good locations too, that was always the hardest thing on indie films in my opinion.
