GH4 External/On-Camera Monitor

I've been using an Ikan A5H-WS monitor with my GH2 for external monitoring and have had no issues displaying an image while shooting at 23.98fps. However, when connecting it to the GH4 I get an "Unsupported" error on the Ikan monitor when switching the camera to shoot 23.98fps in 4K or 1080p. Any suggestions?

Additionally, any recommendations for a replacement monitor would be appreciated as well.

Regards,
Julian

Could it be that the GH4 finally outputs a true native 24p signal instead of 3:2 pulldown wrapped into a 60i signal through HDMI? If that is the case that could be why it doesn't work. Maybe your monitor only works with standard 1080i 59.94i signals. That might explain why the 30p works if that mode is still wrapped inside a 60i HDMI signal. The GH2 and GH3 always output 23.976p inside of a 60i or 60p HDMI signal.

You are correct. The DCI 24 out is a native 24htz signal. I have a couple monitors and even my cheap Marshall V-LCD50 is reading all functions of the Gh4. My Ikan D7w and CIneroid Evf works all functions as well. Not getting my Ninja 2 going though.

See I have the problem the other way around.

My Ninja2 will happily accept the 23.97 signal, but refuses to take the 30p signal. (On connecting it to my TV, its showing as a 1080p60 signal)

Can the Ikan A5H-WS support/accept a 1080p60 signal???

anyone have any luck with this issue? i cant get my cineroid evf 4L to sync up :(

Rob can you please try and put the gh4 in AVCHD mode. Philip Bloom here http://philipbloom.net/2014/05/12/gh4/ says that AVCHD sets the HDMI to 50i or 60i. The Cineroid EVF4C/L doesnt accept 1080p it only accepts 1080i, so thats why it isn't working for you.

I have one on my desk, still unopened. I'm afraid of opening it as then I wont be able to return it to CVP. Can anybody please please confirm that you can do the following: record in UHD and have the camera set to AVCHD so that it outputs to 1080 50i/60i over the HDMI. Please somebody who already owns the GH4 confirm this! Thx
