GH4 GH4 Continuous AF/Face recognition

When I try to use the continuous AF, it "pumps" with the 12/35.
In the end, I have settled on using single-AF, setting it at the beginning of the take.
Has anyone here figured out a way to make continuous AF work, for documentary-type situations where the interviewee can move slightly?

Yeah, it's useless. Panasonic needs to do the Dual-Pixel Autofocus that Canon has on their new 1DX Mark II. That face tracking looks INCREDIBLE.

I'm hoping the GH5 will improve this and have something similar to the 1DX, auto focus on it looks sick.

Exactly. If the GH5 can do the Autofocus Face Tracking that the Canon 1DX Mark II can do, I'll purchase three of them in a heartbeat. To me, that is the next game-changing technology for video production.

GH4 AF works quite well in fullhd. I think the DFD is still not working with video because the AF may go so long times to wrong direction before it figures image is blurring. In 4k there is less processing power left for AF and the result is slow and unreliable. I hope GH5 will have so much processor power that it could have DFD for all video modes. 4k 60P will help too because 60P has twice the amount of focus samples per second than 30P.

Canon's dual-pixel AF technology is key to getting this type of performance, so until another company can produce something equivalent it will remain something only Canon can do.

Sony's A6300's face-tracking is pretty good, but nothing like what the various Canons have, and the convenience of using the 1DXII's touchscreen.
