GH4:1080p v GH2:1080i–Any reason the GH4 file almost 5x larger? (Curious)

I was testing to see if my GH4 could match color with my old GH2. It did, and they can, easily enough with my settings.

However, one thing I noticed was that the GH4 files were about 5x as large. Any reason for that?

ps I am finishing up a project, needed to shoot some more, and figured since the GH4 .mov files don't need transcoding I could save room on drive. But if 5x bigger, no way.

Higher bitrates = better overall quality. GH4 shoots 50Mbit/s is the minimum quality in MOV/MP4 setting. The GH2 shoots at a max of 28Mbit/s, thats why the files are smaller.
If you want lower bitrates, then you have to shoot in AVCHD on the GH4.
