I agree that using the same lens on all cameras would have been more scientifically accurate. But I don't see how the Voigtlander gives the GH3 the upper hand. Since all 3 lenses were set to the same f-stop, and this was an ISO test, the fact that the Voigtlander is an f0.95 doesn't make any difference.
 
I think very few people shoot the mk3 on standard profile. Try cinestyle (with appropriate post work a la the proper LUT) and something comparable on the gh3... that is a test i'd like to see :)

On the contrary, most 5D2/3 shoots I've been on have had the camera set to Standard. Hardly anyone uses Cinestyle anymore, mostly because it tends to bring out the noise in the picture.
 
I think shooting the Canon Neutral profile with sharpening and contrast at the minimum and color dialed down to -2 is the more accepted default than Standard.
 
The fact that we're having this discussion is not good for the camera that is over twice as expensive. Just sayin' :)

It's more accepted for trying to do some post work with it, but even so, the vast majority of the time on shoots I've been on, it's standard. I know this because I was constantly frustrated that my footage didn't quite look as good as some others, until I realized that while I was shooting Neutral with those settings, they were setting it on "Standard" and leaving it.

This is experience both in corporate/industrial work, and reality TV work, BTW.

Fair point being on the same same f-stop you'd hope there wouldn't be too much difference in the comparison.
 
I can see GH3 is definitely sharper. I can also see 5DMKIII is clearly better in low light. In terms of DR (not counting cinestyle), I see they are about same.
