gh3 or d7100? Have you made this decision?

I use the D7100 with a Sound Devices Pix 220 and I really happy of the images I get. A friend of mine that works in a postproduction company and uses Smoke and Flame for color correction and visual effects, checked the ProRes HQ files that I shot and she told me that the quality is very good and the signal is robust. She normally works with clips shot on Alexa or Red. The only problem is the noise in the underexposed areas, but that is something you can and have to deal with both when you film and in post production.

Those are very nice recorders! Don't think that'll be in the budget for what I do currently.

So I guess I'm looking for the best combination of price/quality on the cheaper end. Would that be the ninja 2?

I was lucky to find a demo Pix 220 at a discount after the release of the Pix 220i. I know it' more expensive but it's great to have audio inputs with good quality preamps and not to have to sync up in postproduction.

I have bought a Ninja 2 but did not get time to test it with the d7100 :( When I will have time I will do a good series like I did for the sharpness test so that we can get a good idea of the quality of the D7100 hdmi output.

Please look at color in the shadows, that's one of the things I'd expect the external recorder to improve most.

My eyes are not that well trained, I need a side-by-side test if I'm to notice the difference between internal or external recording. Either that, or working with the camera for a couple of months with internal recording, then switching to external and color grading the original files. And if the difference is not huge, I may not even see that. Still learning...

Any D7100 shooters have any experience with the FS100? I'm wondering how it compares in terms of dr & low light, thinking of picking one up as a b cam, or possibly even switching over, looking for something more discreet and mobile than the fs, which I've always been very happy with.
