GH2 Gh3 full specs now posted

Man, that it pretty bad. I know we didn't agree that Panasonic 'screwed up' the AF-100, but this is pretty clear evidence that Panny can and does get it wrong from time to time.
Its a diff panasonic division.
and whatever that argument is, af100 wasnt screwed up. It came out first ahead of the competition. Anything that comes out later will obviously be better

So? None of their cheap interchangeable lens hybrid DSLR cameras do.

My point is that is is done all the time on cheap level video cameras so we cannot exactly say they won't do it because it would eat into their pro market. To say cheaper cameras cannot do it would just not be true. Not that anybody has said it. Just trying to make a point that physically it is possible and from a price stand point it would make sense as well. It really is interesting that DSLR makers are that much against giving people the option of externally getting 4:2:2 out of these cameras.

The sensors are also much, much larger. Do you have any idea if that makes a difference?

Since I'm not an engineer no I do not. Not sure where your negativity is coming from. I'm not trying to claim I know how these cameras are made just that it "could" be possible to have it at this price point. Just because other DSLRs don't do it either doesn't mean I'm wrong. I believe the latest Nikons do have proper uncompressed output. All I'm stating is that I don't "think" the price point has anything to do with it.

The D800 can, and you cannot record internal simultaneously, like you can with the camcorders you referred to.

There is no negativity, just pointing out that you drawing a comparison with small sensor camcorders is apples and oranges and does not do anything but spread FUD about design decisions.

Again not trying to spread FUD. Just that it "may" be possible. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

I just want to know if the wifi Android and iOS functions all work with video. It says remote monitoring on the Panny website, but it's talking about photos in that section. So I don't know if it's supposed to work with video or not. I really, really hope so. I've posted several places trying to get bloggers who are in touch with Panasonic to ask them. If it doesn't, I figure it'll be hacked in or included in a firmware update.

I just sat and watched a ton of camera clips from the GH3, straight from camera in various situations. Take it or leave it:

Avchd > all-I. At least with this firmware.

The DR has definitely been increased. I don't know by how many stops but it's there.

The color is much much better.

Cojldnt spot Bandung no matter how I peeped. Plenty of situations for it though.

Don't ask me how or why, but it is a ton more flexible in post than any DSLR out there, and I am pretty sure the AF100 and FS100.

Rokling shutter looks improved. Lots of handheld.

Noise is tame and smooth. Looks nice.

Detail in avchd looks like gh2 unhacked.

Lowlight is much better. Confiden better.

Slow and fast motion looks great. So does 60P.

When PV gets ahold of firmware it old get nasty.

Yes it does. The video yesterday from the Panny reps confirmed you can use it as a remote monitor for video (and can control functions like zoom remotely with one of the X lenses). Just watch the video in this thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthrea...-YES-uncompressed-HDMI-firmware-focus-peaking
