In the intended spirit of the GH3 thread ....and since it's a level 5 rumor ( the only ones I take seriously ) 43rumors is also reporting that it will have focus peaking ! If this is true , it will be impossible not to buy this camera esp. if it has the high bitrate mode (also a ft5 level rumor) ! I just hope pany has a 12-35 kit.

Let's put it this way... I haven't heard a "wrong" rumor yet.

As well, there are some things that have not been reported.

Nothing too crazy, but still. Official word will be around soon.

It is the rumor about wide Dynamic Range sensor that is exiting me the most. I hope that it also is applicable to the video side, so that we can get a flat image profile and not just in Raw for the photos.

More news from 4/3 Rumors:

- 16 Megapixel “Wide dynamic range” CMOS Sensor.
- New Venus 7 engine
- electronic shutter
- ISO 100-12.800
- 6fps
- Fastest AF of any interchangeable lens system camera.
- Video Bitrate 50Mbps (72Mbps ALL-I)
- 30p/25p in MP4, MOV and AVCHD
- 3.5 Mic in
- built-in stereo mic
- Audio out
- Pc control
- Time Code
- 1740k OLED LVF, Touch Monitor OLED 610k.
- external battery grip
- Wifi with remote control through iOS and Android Applications
- external XLR accessory
- Focus Peaking
- Interval shooting and slow motion. Slow Movie extension (40%, 50%, 80%) Fast 160/ 200 / 300%
- Magnesium alloy body. Body is bigger than the Panasonic GH2.

I repeat: EXTERNAL XLR ACCESSORY. That could be magnific, depending on what Panasonic is going to deliver here.

Look like quite a list. It will be interesting to see what shows up. If they do not have a 60p mode I will run screaming into the night...

Based on specs I'd say that 60p is a slow motion playback mode, still good though. Odd if not there though as G5 has 60p. There will surely be 12-35 kits, depending on dealer, the question is whether there is a kit deal. I've seen 12-35 with the G5, but the price is the same as the component prices.

Where is 24p in these specs, is not listed and there. 40% slow-mo is 60p in 24, so I assume it is there. MOV files for non avc compliant bit rates, awesome.

This could definitely on the shopping list, if there is a pro audio module for about the price of hmc 40 unit, all in, I would assume headphones on the audio box, if not in body.

What about ETC, if it isn't there I may yet have to pick up a cheap Gh2 for my 16mm lens collection.

Hope you are right. I have the feeling (or wishful thinking?...) Panasonic will offer some extensions that can turn the GH3 into the never existing AF200.

Wow! game changer indeed! Very impressive where the GH3 and hopefully future lines of this camera are going!
Electronic Shutter - means this would be perfect for time-lapse as well, since there are no moving parts?
I wonder if they upped the RAW bit rate of the photo side as well? Before it was 8bits, so something like 12 or 14 would be huge.
Peaking, wifi, higher res OLED, XLR, Grip... how they will keep this under 1k is beyond me! :D

If this all pans out, It wouldn't suprise me that Pani is the one to be the first to deliver an affordable dslr with what we been asking for. XLR wow, thats huge. Now lets hope it has the same amount of detail the gh2 has.

What about a dedicated remote jack?

On the GH2 audio & remote use the same jack, & you can only use one at a time. I'd love to have external audio plugged in, but also a record trigger that isn't on the camera (cage handle / shoulder mount grips / tripod arm...).

I must say this is something that has me interested as well as the other things "Magnesium alloy body. Body is bigger than the Panasonic GH2."
Weather sealed?
I hope...

ETC is still there. That is not a rumor. XD

THe XLR adapts is substantial. Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised based on info from a good year ago.

What I am hoping for is ridiculous... 12 stops achievable to hdmi out which should be 8 422 no catches.

If only they would put that magic 422 number after the 50Mbits, they could stop the market, c100 what? XLR is substantial, as in ridiculous price? If too much I'd probably just go with a decent recorder. The prosumer jack packs have always been about $300, no reason it should be more than that unless it is a combo battery grip SDI out, RAW SSD recorder thingy.

Do we have any specific number regarding DR? That's the one area they have to improve the most. And I won't go by "wide dynamic range" or anything like that, I've heard the m43 marketeers say things like that about cameras that could barely get 10 stops in RAW stills, they probably left out "compared to a $100 point-and-shoot".

I think you are not fare off. HDMI 8bit 422 is becoming kind of a standard in the ranks the GH3 is pointing at. 12 stops of DR, well, if they really tweak that out of the sensor even in low light one could call it the second DSLR revolution...

No measure on the DR. I think a real 12 is far fetched for m4/3 this year though. 11 usable I can see being a reality.

Cant say I haven't been spoiled by seeing all the DR in Magic Cam footage...

If this camera reaches 12 stop DR and in fact can carry a clean 422/8bit from HDmi, I'll be all over it. It will come pre-hacked and Vitaly will hack it the rest of the way.
