GH3 Gh3 App

There is a 'Lumix Link' app but it doesn't work properly with the GH3 at the moment so I imagine a revision will be on the way. Especially with the rate the GH3 will sell.
 
Maybe not surprising, but a huge disappointment nonetheless. There goes a nice director's ipad/monitor. This devalues the point of the whole Wi-Fi connectivity by about 95%... it just becomes a gimmick now. I held out hope that somehow Pana could pull out a miracle here with a firmware update, but it looks like the whole GH3 Wi-Fi feature was a stepchild in this camera. Oh well, maybe by GH5 they can get it right. Pity - major missed opportunity.

Well, I would think that having to stream live video from the camera itself would significantly shorten battery life.

Huh? Weird! This recent video using the pre-release firmware had confirmed that it would work. Does it only work before you start recording, or is it a feature that Panasonic pulled at the last minute. For those of you hoping for a cheap monitoring solution though, keep in mind that even if this works there will be a short delay.

Are you monitoring video on the app while the camera is recording footage?

I didn't see that option in the manual, but only breezed thru it quickly.

As to the demo on YouTube the square aspect ratio makes me think he's in a stills mode.
