Has anyone either found a cheap XLR adaptor or built one from a kit.

I have a very nice capacitor mic I would love to use in interveiws but I dont what to spend too much money on achiving it. Not only does it need an adaptor to change from XLR to a 2.5 plug but it also needs a 48v phantom power supply for the mic to work.

I am sure there are loads of you using the very thing I want right now...... just let me know what it is please

If your microphone has a battery or does not need phantom power, all you need to plug a XLR mic on your GH2 are two things:

- Pearstone LMT100 - Low to High Impedance Matching 8111240 B&H http://goo.gl/TFih1 It is not just a dumb cable, inside the XLR plug there is a transformer that changes the impedance to match the GH2's.
- Hosa Technology GMP-467 - Right Angle Adapter GMP-467 B&H Photo http://goo.gl/6RQyA It is the mini jack to sub mini jack to match the ridiculously small input of the GH2.

Optional, you can also add this to use two mics.
- Hosa Technology Stereo Mini Male to 2 MonoMini Female YMM-261 http://goo.gl/7SHzg so you can plug two mics, one on each channel. I usually use my second channel with a wireless lavalier that outputs in mini jack.

Still no audio feedback though...
One solution is look for a on camera monitor that has a audio jack. The sound is carried by the HDMI.

If you need the 48v go for this Beachtek DXA-SLR Active Audio Adapter DXA-SLR B&H Photo Video http://goo.gl/FE8UB

Enjoy.

Thanks Victor

As you might imagine I need the $300 one. I guess I will have to stick to my onboard mic for now.

Checked out your web site ...... impressed ...... especialy liked your music choices.
