GH2 vs. Canon 60D Comparison

Im no fan boy of any of these companies, but as a canon owner I can honestly say that from the out of the cam footage that is circulating, I would say image off the gh2 looks to be at least 40% better than my canon. Certainly in terms of color, dynamic range, aliasing, moir, and sharpness. This is enough for me to make changes although I will be holding on to my 5d stricly for my photography. This is where the pannys will fall short.

Crrrrrap! I was so stoked to have purchased the 60D when it came out! I could probably still get a good price for my kit... But oh the hassle! We need a side by side comparison video STAT! Might as well compare it to the 60D... If it beats that out then the 7D and T2i are in the dust.

But there's something to be said about the fact that 95 percent of all video dslr users in my (Seattle) area will still be using Canon out of ignorance. Would GL2 footage flow well with Canon footage?

Also, don't they make lenses purposefully wider to compensate for the 2x crop?

This is very exciting. The whole hacked Gh1 thing never appealed to me for reliablity issues and such... Well if the GH2 is as good or almost as good with all of the tech improvements this will be a great little performer and you'll see a whole bunch of canons for sale.... if they bought it for video that is.

I never had any reliability issues. You just can't be too aggressive and don't turn on the native 24p mode (it doesn't work well). I've been running at about 50Mbps with Sandisk Extreme 3 Class 6 and have never had a single issue.

Sorry but I will postpone the GH2, AG-AF100/101, Red One and 5D MK II comparison after the middle of December, because Panasonic sends me two pre-release models of the GH2 and the AG-AF100/101. :(
The firmware of the GH2 that's in my hands, is the 0.2 but the definitive one will be the 1.0, much more better than the 0.2.
Sorry again and stay tuned!

Please try to get side by side shots. The test they did below did not do this.

Shot a year ago - Shot run n' gun style on the streets of LA with the Red, Canon 5Dmk2 and Panasonic Lumix GH1 Camera.

So, to my untrained newbie eye... I see little difference among these. The Red looks more "filmic" and seems to have richer colors and details. Could someone highlight the major differences? :)
