GH2 Gh2 users for Magic Lantern

As a former T2i user I came to rely on the features that project Magic Lantern, web link here: http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/M..._Firmware_Wiki brought to us such as:

  • Fully manual Audio control
  • exposure zebras
  • live histograms
  • live audio monitoring using headphones (plugged into the AV out jack) during filming
  • focus peaking
  • cropmarks
  • magic zoom
  • Built in intervalometer
With these features A1ex was able to change our T2i's into more capable movie making machines. Now I know that the GH2 offers far more features out of the box than do the Canon cameras, but having these features would be invaluable.

Therefore, I would like this to be a sort of petition to A1ex and all others working on MagicLantern to consider work on a version for our GH2s. I would love to show the developer(s) that there is a community who wants these tools available to better their filmmaking experience.

I believe that we are there, so help me by showing your support through this thread!

focus peaking is definitely the biggest feature I'd request. When I don't have the flexibility of having my hd monitor hooked up it puts a lot of guesswork into using manual lenses. I can usually find the spot, but when trying to pull focus focus on the fly, it would-be awesome to have peaking.

if you're going to start a campaign asking for someone to dedicate endless hours of his time you need to realistically have some kind of fun so he/she has incentive

i guess what i'm trying to say is, its easy to write what you wrote, easy for everyone to say yes i agree, NOT EASY for a1ex

Vitaliy Kiselev, Driftwood and all the other members of the Personal View forum is putting a LOT of his own time to make the GH2 hack happen.
Before asking for anything this beg on the hack, maybe you should consider a donation to the people who made this thing happen. http://www.personal-view.com/
I understand when you scream at Panasonic when they block or refuse to input much needed features, but VK is already doing his best.

Also expect great things to happen in a near future as the new firmware 1.1 will be hacked and new variables will be discovered.

The focus assisting features of Magic Lantern (as well as the audio monitoring) are the hardest things for me to shoot without these days.

I can't imagine pulling focus on the small screen without the Magic Zoom magnification box. I've gotten so used to it being there while filming!

If this is possible, it probably won't happen for a very long time. But yes, count me in +1 if anyone is keeping score!

This is great but not really what I'm talking about at all. What I'm attempting to do here is just show that there is a community, right here, who would greatly benefit from the features of Magic Lantern. The HACK does not add focusing features or enhanced audio controls. Do you see what I'm getting at?

I don't know if anyone that hasn't seen Magic Lantern can possibly appreciate what it is (or how useful it can be)!

+1 on this. Seriously, people need to be realistic. The audacity of thinking you can just beg and sign up a lot of other people begging without including any kind of fund.
