GH2 Pre-orders

Got my kit, everything looks good but im still not charged for the cam yet. Just canceled my samys pre order and going to cancel the adorama pre order tomorrow. Tracking has it started at CAROL STREAM, IL. I havent seen anyone else post about a gh2 kit from the US. Im wondering if this could have been from Canada. Anyone know how to tell if it is? Firmware is 1.0, lens 1.4.

edit: Just looked at the warranty and it is indeed from Canada. Can anyone tell me what differences theyre between a canada and US model? Any kind of problems i might run into in production or post production or is it pretty much like having a US model?

Update: UPS' website now reports a delivery date for my cam. In my experience, UPS delivery estimates are accurate, so that's a good sign. Standing by ...


EDIT: UPS now reports my cam has left its Cerritos, CA point of origin (I'm using ground shipping).

Also: Since I didn't receive any emails from PanasonicDirect, I got the UPS tracking info via the UPS "by reference" option. When I checked our credit card yesterday there was a "hold" $ amount on it by PD. I'll check again later to see if they've actually charged for the cam yet.

My black body, ordered from Panasonic Direct on 3 Dec just before availability flipped to 'preorder', arrived on my doorstep yesterday. Never received any emails whatsoever regarding shipping status or tracking.

Just checked UPS via dojoman's brilliant UPS find, and it's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow!
 
My UPS tracking shows delivery on friday ! I should also get my second PK-m4/3rds adapter by friday from fotodiox (amazon) with this one having an aperture control ring for Pentax DA lenses.

One problem you will run into is that all your menu options will be in Canadian.
 
I find it odd that they haven't charged our card. There was a hold when I placed the order but it's gone so are they ever going to charge us again? If you want a free camera all you have to do is cancel your credit card after UPS delivery.
 
For a Canadian camera you'll have to bribe it with Molson Ice, pretend to like hockey, and promise to make fun of the queen at every chance you can get.... Atleast that is what I did when I lived in Montreal.... Super great city, even despite the French... lol.. I kid...
 
I've had a GH2 on Amazon Pre-Order since September 23. Somehow my preorder was never cancelled, even though other users reported having their orders cancelled.

I just got an email from Amazon saying my GH2 is shipping soon, and should arrive on December 20th.
 
I just canceled my Amazon order, hoping my Panasonic GH2 which has now shipped makes it here from Illinois via ground without exploding and works when it gets here.

Wow, that's good news. Mine was never canceled either. Is yours with the 14-42?
On the other hand, I went ahead and spent that allowance on a new plasma (yes, it's a Panny) thinking i would not get mine until after the 1st of the year. Oh well.......... have not received the same email so I'll go back in my cave now.
