GH2 Pre-orders

I sent them an email that was a little bit cold wondering what heck is going on and why I was told 1-3 days, then 2-3 days, then 5 weeks...and I just got an email saying my camera has shipped! I even have a tracking number!

Lucky you. I assumed you ordered on 12/1? I'm still waiting on mine. It looks like PD is shipping one camera a day. I may have to call them and annoy the he'll out of CS until I have the camera.

12/2 slash 12/3 actually. I didn't use any of the discount shennanigans so that might help? Paid full price.

Gonna cancel Amazon preorder once this thing is in my hands.

This is sort of funny because the Macbook Pro I ordered shipped yesterday, custom assembled at the factory in China, and shipping via fedex from Shanghai, to be here by the 16th (free shipping.) talk about fast. Now compare that to this.
 
Got an email last night that my gh2 with 14-140 was shipped from wolfcamera. It has a fedex tracking number and says i should get it today. It came from one state over so it looks like 1 day shipping. Ill let you guys know if all is good with it later tonight.

Isn't that something, when I placed my order with them few days ago they charged my card told me it will be delivered only to find out that they had cancelled my order two days later. I called them up and they told me that they never had any in stock because their shipment got delayed until January 3. Terrible customer service by the way. It looks like everything went fine with your order, I hope you do get your camera and use it :)

I ordered 12/10 at around 5pm cst by phone. The rep told me not to order online but by phone since i was on the phone with him already because the process time is faster. Fedex says its 6lbs so I hope its the camera but i wouldnt be surprised if its a brick with a note saying "I. O. U. one GH2"

Edit: PS i know somethings coming because of the fedex tracking page but my card has not been charged yet. Only pending charges so im really not sure whats going on with that.

You are very fortunate sir! I ordered a day earlier than you and still no sign of shipping. It might have to do with EPP discount who knows but I used legit work email. What a shame how this company operates. I was gonna buy the 3D TV from them, after this experience I'll get it somewhere else.
 
Not sure if anyone noticed, by saw on another site, and confirmed that Panasonic Direct has the body only silver and black GH2 models with 1 to 3 days shipping. (Yes, I know that based on GH1 experience that could be weeks not days) I just placed an order for a black one. Good option for those looking body only or who get the Panasonic Direct pricing.
 
Mine was shipped yesterday. Got my tracking number but I had to call the lady from 253 to get it. Never got email notice like she said. I suggest you guys call her to get tracking number. Also CC won't be charged until you get the camera which is weird. I hope they forget to charge it and get the camera for free to make up for all this hassle.

what is the # for the lady from 253? They say mine was supposed to ship yesterday, but no word since.
 
After trying everything possible to get a GH2 here in US I gave up and ordered one from Canada. The store I ordered it from has 11 GH2's in stock with the 14-140mm kit, and I am pretty sure that other camera stores in Canada have some left in stock. It's beyond me why Pana would be so bad at simple Math. Too bad I have to cancel my PD EPP order with them.
 
As of this morning, UPS finally has a tracking number ("billing info received") for my black, body-only GH2 @ Panasonic Direct (ordered 12/1). So, depending on where PD is shipping my "EPP" cam from (maybe WA?), I could have my cam soon. Hurrah.

GH2 cams first began selling in Japan in late Oct., and here it is mid-December and they're only just now beginning to sell the first few units in the US. Impressive. 8-|
