Been a crazy last few days! Me and my buddy filmed this video for a poem he wrote, and put it up on the 10th at 7pm and it has got over 5 million views now, and was the #1 most viewed video on youtube today. It was on the front page of AOL, was tweeted by Matt Barkley (USC QB), and was trending on twitter on and off, and was the #1 most shared video on facebook and blogs today. Needless to say, we weren't expecting THAT big of a response, and I thought i'd share our vid with you guys.
Content aside (don't want this to be a debate thread of any sorts), this was the first video i've had the honor to film with the GH2, and was definitely a good learning experience. I used the GH2 for the steadicam merlin angles, the main mid shot, and the closeup, and used the HMC for the others. We ran the audio through a the HMC with a sennheiser g3 set and a sanken cos-11d lav. I used a nikon 50mm for both the closeup and the mid with the GH2, and used the kit lens for the steadicam (since I don't have a wide yet).
This was only running at the cbradin 44mb's patch (hadn't tested the other patches at all, and was in a rush before filming this so just went with something I KNEW would work perfect and span). I'm running the latest driftwood now however.
Definitely could have matched the HMC and the GH2 better in camera, made it a HUGE hassle when color grading. But they actually don't look to bad cut together (thought it would be horribly noticable).
Edited in FCP and Graded in Magic Bullet Looks.
Never been so amped to improve the quality of my videography now that things are really starting to pick up. GH2 is one badddd boy. I've never been 'blown away' with DSLR footage untill I saw hacked footage from the GH2. I bought it the day I saw driftwood's 1st reel, and there's no turning back now

Enjoy!
