They don't even sell GH1 in Korea.
Yeap. Not worth it. Hard to get warranty service.
Good to hear some good news on the aliasing front. So OLPF is not the only solution. Even if this particular one comes at the expense of 2.6x crop. However, if one doesn't primarily shoot wide angles and with some sharp c-mount lenses results could be quite good. Please also posts results (data) after shooting the better resolution chart. ThanksWe just made small research using resolution chart (we'll need to use better one later) and normal and tele extender modes.
Tele extender mode look exceptionally well.
In normal mode it looks like resolution is better then on GH1 and moire is much less.
But this is initial impressions.
We need to make more tests using better resolution chart.
Those are problems with old versions of VLC. Make sure you have version > 1.1.xI think I saw something that worries me: in one of the vids posted like 40 pages before, the one of the street and two cars, there is the small mud following the first car, thing that someone pointed then. But in VLC I see compression artifacts onto the first car, the grey one, especialy on the door. And also Is the car slimed down when aproached, like some kind of jello going on?
I am too paranoid?
Regarding language firmware updates for people aiming to buy Japanese gh2 cams, be very aware that the only reason we have language options on the gh1 is because of the hack. Panasonic, unlike other manufacturers, do NOT have language switching in a lot of there consumer gear. I spoke to a rep here in Japan when the GH1 came out and the response was, "we have no plans to include language switching now or in the future for this camera". Now maybe things have changed but it would be wise to make purchasing decisions with this in mind.
well, it's all getting complicated.
btw - found new sound test !

I bought a Japanese GH1 while everyone was waiting for them summer 2009. I read enough Japanese to get around the menus, so it was no big deal, but usually, for basic things I just knew the the icon and wasn't reading anyway. Later, with the hack, I was able to change the language to English and it became no different than the US version. Eventually, we may be able to change the GH2 language, but count on using it in Japanese for awhile.
