thanks guys, Do i have to use Ext. Tele converter with this lens? I hear with other lens , specially cctv lenses that you need to use that.
also how does that canon fd lens stand up against the Noktor 12mm 1.6 hyper prime? I really wanted to get the noktor but its almost $600.

You only need ETC mode for the small C-mount lenses , the Canon 50mm covers 35mm SLR/FF DSLRs like the 5D. The 12mm F1.6 is a 24mm eqiv wide angle on m4/3rds and the 50mm is a 100mm eqiv short telephoto.

also the c mount lenses are the cheapest low light fast lens that will work with gh2?

i found this lens for some what cheap on ebay. looks pretty good
i just dont know what kinda lens to get.

Using ETC will give you an extra 2x crop, on top of the 1.7x crop the GH2 already has. But in ETC mode, you have a native 1920x1080, it is a 1:1 pixel mapping (no line skipping or pixel binning), so you won't see aliasing or moire.

C mount is probably the cheapest you can get. Obviously, you will need to get a CMount to MFT adapter.

You can also use lenses made for 2/3" sensors, like B4 mount ENG lenses, you need to use ETC mode for this, and need the appropriate adapter.
