GH2 in stock thread

I got my order canceled from B&H, but it went immediately to my card. I think it'll probably be tomorrow before it refunds/ cancels on my card. So, I'm probably going to miss out on Samy's stock, unfortunately.

The guy I spoke with on the phone said that Samy's is a reputable company and that he always sees them at the trade shows.

There is no VAT in the US. If you purchase the item out of state while in NY, technically you are suppossed to pay state tax. In reality, you will be able to leave the country with no additional charges. The person at the ship to address could be liable at some future date, but that is unlikely. If you buy in the store in NY, you will be charged sales tax unless you have an exception. Being a foreigner is not one of them.

I thought there was some kind of a state tax as you mention. Then I guess it's better to order the GH2 from internet without tax and save $124, it's always something but we'll see. I've got discount at B&H before and maybe I can get it again.

Hallelujah! After two months of constantly checking 43 rumors, dvxuser, m43 reviews, etc., I checked 43rumors this morning, saw the in-stock alert, immediately (within seconds) went to the B&H site and ordered a 14-140 black kit. It confirmed, and I have a tracking # with delivery slated for Monday. Wow. It's been a long wait, especially with my 7D sold two months ago, and my m43 lenses and accessories sitting and taunting me, on my shelf, daily.

I had almost given up on the GH2, after the horrific events in Japan. I assume the GH2 will only get more difficult to find in the coming weeks. Good luck to all in their search. I personally will be looking for a second kit, after some test of the camera taping live theatre.
 
Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums, but I have been following this and a few threads as I have been desperately trying to snag a GH2. I did find the GH2 silver 14-42 in stock from Samy's Camera and was able to order one yesterday during my late night hunting. I was so excited to know that it was shipped out and I finally get mine on Monday! Just like most I did want the black one, but I was willing to settle for the silver.

Funny thing though, when I ordered the silver one, the black was out of stock. After I went to bed and got up in the morning, I was surprised to see the black in stock. I ordered a black as well, but when they called me yesterday they told me that they were out of stock, but the black should be coming in next week. They told me I could stay in line as they sounded pretty assured that they were going to get the black in stock by maybe Monday or Tuesday. It would be nice to have 2 GH2's, but still debating what I should do about the black one if I should just cancel that order and look for the Voigtlander lens. Decisions decisions...good luck to everybody else on their hunting :-)

But this past Sunday was actually 3 months for delivery. Now that's a lot of patience. :)

Seeing the current situation in Japan....I thought I would have had to wait even longer.
 
Kenmore camera(in Seattle) has a couple of GH2 kits in stock. 14-140 and 14-42. I just ordered one and I wasn't on any list. they are a reputable company.
 
Amazon is now shipping back orders. I just received notice that my Black 14-42 kit has shipped. Its from a Jan. 3 order date and is a replacement for my original Sept. Order that was defective. (Bad evf) long, long wait.
 
Yeah events in japan will keep things on back order for some time I think. Funny thing is if I had the cash I could get an AF100, but not a Gh2 and kit lens to go with it. I was hoping to get a GH2 to play with, test lenses on and then make the investment in AF100 when my lenses are in shape.
 
I also was able to order a body from Kenmore Camera today. They are definitely reputable; I should have my camera on Monday.
 
Talk about good timing. I just got the money in my account to pay for a GH2 and I log on here and see that Kenmore has exactly what I wanted. I just ordered a 14-140 kit from them. Fingers crossed.....

BTW -- they still showed 14-140 and 14-42 black kits in stock. Out of stock on body only and silver 14-42 kit.

I made my mistake in that I took about 15 minutes after hearing B&H had them, trying to decide if I wanted to get it since I didn't want the silver. I decided to go ahead since I might not find it elsewhere. But in the time that I added it to my cart (and was in stock) and the time that I typed my credit card info, it had sold out. So I got them to cancel my order (they were very good about this-- sent me an email, then called me). BUT the problem is the charge in still listed as pending on my credit card and the refund won't clear until probably some time tomorrow. I've missed out on 3 or 4 vendors so far that have had them in stock. Ugh.

But it does sound like places are getting them in stock a lot better the past few days, so hopefully this will stay the case for at least a couple of weeks.. until the crisis in Japan starts affecting availability.

Thanks to everyone for keeping us updated on vendors that have them. Maybe someone still will tomorrow when my funds are available on my card again.

What you guys fail to understand is the places that are getting in stock have a waiting list already. Some places make the mistake of showing them in stock when they are already spoken for.
 
Sure, but that wasn't the case with B&H. Not that they didn't have some on a list, but obviously they had some available-- as DVXSanDiego was able to place an order. Anywhere else, I would have (and will) CALL instead of ordering online.
 
And in less than 2 hours from ordering I received an e-mail from Kenmore Camera saying that my camera had shipped and providing tracking info. Very exciting.
