GH2 in stock thread

I know I've been looking and scounting the web and retailers locally for the dasdarly GH2. I found my HVX originally from a hookup on this site so I figured it might be beneficial to others to post here when they come across units in stock, as quick as they disappear, people might be more inclined to check this site rather than others...

So just thought I'd put this out there and if Mods need to take it down or put it elsewhere or whatever that's cool. I have some money I should be spending upon Christmas gifts but they'll just have to deal with my presence as their present... lol.

post the info on this and we'll see who can get what and where. I also don't want to feel like a color snob but I am not looking for a silver one. I want to be very inconspicuous with the camera... so minimal bling.
 
It's easy to find the GH2 in stock in Europe. I've seen them in Germany, UK and here in Sweden. It's just that we have to pay 2173 dollars for the gh2 14-140 kit thanks to the high taxes.
 
Yes... I've seen that and I could get it in the UK and have my family ship it to me in the States but it would cost me 700 dollar more. I'm impatient but I"m also Scottish so I'll wait to buy it for the 1500 dollar retail price.... Same for getting a Japanese version. If it means waiting till January well then that's what it is. I just have a couple of jobs that I could use it for so hence my interest...

GH2 in stock at Panasonic?

FYI, I just placed an order for the body-only GH2 at the Panasonic website (www2.panasonic.com). The site claims "Ships in 1-3 business days".
 
People have been having big issues and problems with them but I hope it works out.... I also wanted to get it with the 14-140.
 
Holy Crap! Thanks for the heads-up Justyn! I've been trying to order from PD for weeks, because I get an employee discount. I just ordered! Now, I may get my GH2 this week, and you just saved me a few hundred bucks!!
 
I went to PD and like everyone else, would love this camera right now. By the time I was done though, with tax etc, it was almost $70. more than my Provantage order for the camera with the 14-42 lens. Seeing how I want 3 of them, I guess I'll try to be patient and wait.
 
GL with that ships in 1-3 business days. I ordered on 12/1 my camera is still hasn't shipped. Online order status shows nothing.
 
Just picked one up a few minutes ago on the Panasonic site (body only) with a corporate discount. Nice. At this price I'm tempted to pick up a second one. It says it ships in 1-3 business days.
 
Good luck to one and all. I have a use for this and I believe I'll have a better chance of getting a GH2 than the AF100 right now. Only 400 of those were supposed to ship...


I also have been jonsing over the 25mm Voigtlander. I think that lens has gotten me excited about shooting stills again in locations previously requiring additional lighting, etc....

What did you get it for if you don't mind me asking? Cheers and happy to help and pretty much everything I'm seeing from this little camera is really rock solid... I'm also excited to fly something a lot lighter on my stabilizer...
 
Ok, this is the second time I tried this, I hope I don't get a call 2 days from now to confirm that I did order the body only.

Do it through the website, there is a link that asks you for your company's "your" email address and see if you qualify. When I called PD they told me that my company doesn't qualify and I was shocked, and than I went to the website entered my work email and it said that I was qualified and ordered my Gh2 body "only" for $630+$40 tax+ next dayshipping $29=$699. The problem now is getting the camera actually shipped to me. It looks like the EPP discount is 30% accross the board as far as I can tell looking at the prices of lenses and their cameras, pretty nice if you ask me.
